SAN FRANCISCO, March 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Many of the 18,000+ attendees expected at this year's Intersolar and ees North America in San Francisco know Summerfest as the largest solar and energy storage annual networking and fund raising event in North America. What they don't know is Summerfest this July is going to be the biggest yet!
Intersolar and CALSEIA have announced this year's Summerfest will take place at AT&T Park, San Francisco's famous major league baseball stadium, and combine two of America's favorite darlings -- solar power and baseball. Summerfest 2017, also honoring CALSEIA's 40th year of service and Intersolar's 10th year in San Francisco, is set to be the largest and most successful fund raising event in CALSEIA's history.
Intersolar, which has been CALSEIA's major fundraising partner for many years, uses its annual conference and exhibition resources to support CALSEIA's solar and energy storage policy work. Since 2011, CALSEIA's partnership with Intersolar has provided more than $1 million in direct support to CALSEIA and its leadership role in the U.S. solar market.
Summerfest 2017 will feature a live broadcast of the MLB All-Star Game displayed on the AT&T Park jumbotron scoreboard and screens throughout the stadium. Solar and energy storage professionals will enjoy food, beverages, dancing, stadium tours, and even a chance to bat in the stadium's underground batting cages! Summerfest is expected to attract over 2,700+ participants.
"We can't wait to start the solar party at AT&T Park," said Florian Wessendorf, Managing Director of Intersolar North America. "We expect a record turnout at Summerfest this year, and are proud to support CALSEIA's mission in this way."
Proceeds from the event will help CALSEIA continue to promote smart solar technologies, drive policy advocacy, and create a strong voice for solar and energy storage markets in California and nationwide.
"Summerfest is CALSEIA's single biggest fundraising event of the year in addition to being an excellent opportunity for business-to-business networking," said CALSEIA Executive Director Bernadette Del Chiaro. "In partnership with Intersolar, a successful Summerfest event gives CALSEIA the resources we need to keep fighting for a growing solar and storage energy market in California."
In addition to being CALSEIA's biggest fundraising event, Summerfest is the official networking party of Intersolar and ees North America and SEMICON West, comprising the largest solar, energy storage and advanced electronics exhibitions in North America. Some 550 exhibitors and more than 18,000 visitors participated in Intersolar and ees North America in 2016.
Summerfest 2017 will take place on Tuesday, July 11, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Tickets can be purchased at www.calseia.org or www.intersolar.us. Interested parties should contact CALSEIA for Summerfest sponsorship opportunities.
