Sunpreme Wins A Commercial Roof Top Module Supply Agreement (MSA) Of 10MW For Its Bifacial, Double Glass, Frameless GxB-370W Panels, Incorporating Its Hybrid Cell Technology (HCT) Platform

SAN FRANCISCO, July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunpreme announced at the Intersolar San Francisco trade show that it has closed on an MSA (Module Supply Agreement) for delivering approximately 10MW of its Bifacial 370W HCT panels for installation on large commercial roof tops in the second half of 2016. This comes from a repeat customer who already has recently commissioned 15MW of Sunpreme Bifacial panels on other projects. With an optimally configured roof top design, the Bifacial boost on roof top projects is expected to be in the 10-15% range.

"We are proud of this strategic customer partnership in the high growth distributed power generation space, which is backed by a strong bank, a strategic tax equity investor and an independent engineering firm for sustained financing. We have also set up strong collaborations with innovative Racking, EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) and Roof Top Materials companies. These collaborations maximize the Bifacial benefit by design, and thereby help our customers execute on profitable projects. We are on track to reach multiple 100MW/yr off-take agreements to support Sunpreme's growth in manufacturing capacity," stated Dr Ashok Sinha, Sunpreme's Chairman and CEO. "Our leading edge double glass, frameless design enables the highest power Bifacial panels available today. These panels absorb light from both front and back sides, the symmetric HCT cells enable high efficiency PV conversion, with high yield production-worthiness and without cost tradeoffs. Such performance is made possible even under low and diffuse ambient lighting, resulting in a higher energy yield (KWhr per KWp). The panel design, esp. with (optional) integrated optimizers, assures consistent performance in adverse lighting as well as environmental conditions," added Sinha.

Sunpreme's double glass GxB370, 72 Cell panels with 21.5% (STC) efficient cells are designed for reliability, including a frameless construction that needs no grounding. They have a lower thermal coefficient of efficiency of -0.28%/C, thanks to a higher Voc of 725-735mV achieved through the use of ultra-thin amorphous Si films for making an innovative split p-i-n junction on specially surface engineered substrates.

"We are delighted to be the supplier of choice to these projects," stated Homi Fatemi, Sunpreme's SVP of Global Business development & Strategic Partnerships. "This selection is testimony to Sunpreme's advanced solar cell/module technology where we were able to collaborate and demonstrate outstanding system performance, robust product reliability, lifetime yields, significant operational savings while offering attractive financial returns for 30 years or more with one of the best warranties in the Solar industry," added Fatemi.
